Charah Vice President Named To American Coal Council Board of Directors

LOUISVILLE, KY (November 10, 2010) – Charah®, Inc., a leading ash management provider for the coal-fired electric utility industry, announced today that its Executive Vice President, Danny L. Gray, has been named to the board of directors of the American Coal Council (ACC), effective January 1, 2011.

The ACC, headquartered in Washington, D.C., is the pre-eminent business voice of the American coal industry. The Association is dedicated to advancing the development and utilization of American coal as an economic, abundant and environmentally sound fuel source.

In addition, Mr. Gray has also been invited to serve on the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce’s Energy and Environmental Council. The Energy and Environmental Council seeks to promote Kentucky as an energy leader and supports policies to achieve environmental protection without unnecessarily hindering economic development and business growth. Its members support legislative and administrative actions that are scientifically valid, technically feasible and economically rational.

Mr. Gray joined Charah in 2008 and has over 32 years experience in the electric utility and coal ash management industries. Prior to joining Charah, Mr. Gray served as Vice President of Mineral Resource Technologies, Inc. (MRT), a CEMEX subsidiary, from 2002 until 2008. Prior to MRT, he was employed by JTM Industries, Inc. (later renamed ISG Resources, Inc.) for 13 years in various senior management positions including Sr. Vice President of ISG and as President of the JTM Engineering subsidiary company. He began his professional career in 1978 with American Electric Power in the environmental and regulatory area.

Mr. Gray graduated with honors from Virginia Tech with a BS in Civil Engineering and is a registered professional engineer in multiple states.
