(March 15, 2018) – Today the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing the first two rules that will amend the regulations for the disposal of coal combustion residuals, also known as CCR or coal ash, from electric utilities and independent power producers. This proposal is Phase 1 in EPA’s two step modification approach. Phase 2 will be addressed in a separate proposal later this year.
