SSEB to Support Revitalization of the Puerto Rico Energy System

(February 27, 2018) – Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant and Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, current and past Chairman of the Southern States Energy Board (SSEB), announced today the partnership between Puerto Rico’s Governor Ricardo Rossello, SSEB and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to provide continuing support in revitalizing the electric system in Puerto Rico. Since the devastating hurricanes last year that destroyed the electric transmission and delivery network on the Island, SSEB and DOE have provided assistance to Puerto Rico. SSEB and its members have a unique set of capabilities and experience to assist Puerto Rico in re-establishing a reliable, efficient, resilient and affordable electric system.
